THE MECHANICS

Movements

Jumps are actually performed when the button is released. Implementing a
Coyote Time allowed for a more natural and responsive feel

Slime Puddle

The player can spit out a slime ball that sticks to surfaces. Coming in contact with it will make him bounce. The more speed the player has, the further he will be launched.

Slimy Slopes

When going down a Slimy Slope, Rubby builds up speed and keeps it as long as he's sliding. Those creates fun and engaging momentum based joy rides.

Possess

As Rubby, the player has the ability to possess corpses he finds. Each character has different abilities to offer gameplay variety to the player.

THE CHARACTERS

THE SWORDMAN

Used to introduce the possess mechanic to the player. He can swing his sword breaking boxes and killing enemies. He is possessed only once in the game.

THE ARCHER

Used to fight enemies from a distance, creating a slower-pace gameplay and offering some Stealth sequences. She can also be used to cut down ropes to open paths.

THE GUARDIAN

Using his shield, the Guardian can get through areas covered by Archers without taking damage. He can also kick objects and enemies in front of him.

THE JUGGERNAUT

The Juggernaut was designed to make the player feel powerful and unstoppable. The player can constantly swing his axe around launching crates at the enemies, accidentally killing them while still getting the full satisfaction of succeeding.

MY CONTRIBUTION

In this 1 month long project, I was the one in charge of the entire GAME DESIGN and PROGRAMMING aspect of the game.

I had to design and program the main character, Rubby, it's abilities, it's movements and it's animations. I had to think of different ways to make the traversal with Rubby fun and engaging for the player since it's the character they were going to use the most.

I had to design and program all the characters the player could possess. Each character had to have different mechanics to create variety in gameplay and to constantly offer fresh mechanics to the player as he progresses.
